Yesterday, after loading up on kids' books from the library again, I headed over to Alexandria because I hadn't been there in ages and it was a lovely day for reading by the waterfront (and they have the most deliciously crowded, tiny tea shop).

Today my parents and I went down to Mt. Vernon, George Washington's estate. It was rainy today; it rained the last time we went to Mt. Vernon years ago. Apparently we have started a tradition of going to Mt. Vernon in the rain. It is good to have traditions ( Read more... )
